"My name is Laurie and I am a lifetime resident of Fair Lawn. I married my high school sweetheart and raised my 3 children here. I always had my eye on the medical field but never had the opportunity to follow my passion. Then one day my friend asked me to join the ambulance corps with her, and I did!! It was one of the best decisions I ever made!
Starting as a probationary member, I went to EMT school and worked my way up to becoming a general member where I was taking over 300 calls per year As a member for 14 years, I mentor our
Cadets and Probationers, teaching them what it means to be a good EMT and a member of our organization. I also serve on many different committees and have been the Assistant Chief for the past 6 years.
FLVAC is truly my second family. I work alongside so many passionate, caring and supportive people and have made lifelong friendships. I am so proud to be part of the ambulance corps and have found serving the community to be so fulfilling!
I fell in love with FLVAC, I only regret not having done it sooner!
